Reverend Eugene Noh
Eugene Noh is the College Pastor at KCPC, a post he has held since 1995. Although he was born in Hawaii and lived there for 9 years, he never learned how to hula or surf, and considers himself a Californian through and through. He grew up in San Jose, until going off to UC Berkeley, where he studied civil engineering. Despite Eugene's plan to pursue a career in engineering, with the possibility of practicing law in the future, God had other plans. During his college years, Eugene was actively involved with the college ministry at KCPC and experienced a growing sense of calling to pastoral ministry. By the time he graduated in 1995, there was a convergence between his personal call to ministry and KCPC's need for a college pastor, and the rest, as they say, is history.
During his four years at Westminster Theological Seminary in California, Eugene served at KCPC on weekends, but moved back to Berkeley after graduating in 1999 to continue his ministry full-time. For a guy who never enjoyed school very much, he has yet to find a way to leave the college scene, and it is rumored that he has been spotted on the UC Berkeley campus, sitting in on classes ranging from urban studies to international relations. Although it's not easy keeping up with college students, they are his fountain of youth, keeping him young at heart.
Eugene enjoys keeping up with culture and politics by watching Charlie Rose and discussing the latest independent films, and you will often find him running or hiking the hills around Berkeley.
